Def Leppard Release Another Song off Their New Album
Def Leppard fans who couldn’t get enough of “Let’s Go” the first single from their upcoming self-titled album are in luck. The band has released another new song, “Dangerous,” which can be streamed by visiting the below link.
The track has all the hallmarks of what is expected from Def Leppard: crunching guitars, charging rhythms, tight performances and a singalong chorus. As singer Joe Elliot said of the album, “It’s just called Def Leppard because that’s what it sounds like. It doesn’t sounds like any one specific era of Def Leppard. It’s got everything.”
Arriving Oct. 30, the 14-song Def Leppard is their 11th album and first since 2008’s Songs From the Sparkle Lounge. The Japanese version of the record will add the demo of “Last Dance,” while the Classic Rock Fanpack has an alternate vocal on “We Belong” and the U.K. radio edit of “Let’s Go.”
Guitarist Phil Collen told Ultimate Classic Rock that the recording process was a welcome departure for them, given the lack of people breathing down their necks this time out. “There was no pressure from record executives or anyone. Every song was inspired and it’s something we haven’t done before,” he said. “It’s the reason that you get into a band in the first place, to make music that you enjoy. It wasn’t for the fans, it wasn’t for a record company and it wasn’t for the industry — it was for us.”
Earlier today (Oct. 16), the band announced that, due to “overwhelming demand,” they will be reprising their most recent tour, going back out on the road with Styx and Tesla. The three-week stretch will begin Jan. 27, 2016 in Greensboro, N.C. and conclude on Feb. 17 in Allentown, Pa. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Oct. 23, but members of their Rock Brigade Concert Club will have access to a pre-sale on Oct. 23.
